Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai, El-o-hei-nu Me-lech Ha-O-lam, a-sher kid-sha-nu b’mitz-vo-tav v’tzi-va-nu l’had-lik ner shel Ha-nu-kkah.

 

Blessed are you O Holy One, our G-d, Guide of the Cosmos, who sanctifies us by your sacred ways and instructs us to kindle the Lights of Hanukkah.

 

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai, El-o-hei-nu Me-lech Ha-O-lam, sheh a-sa ni-ssim l’avo-tei-nu bi-ya-mim ha-hem, laz-man ha-zeh.

 

Blessed are you O Holy One, our G-d, Guide of the Cosmos, who has done miracles for our Ancestors in those days, at this season.

 

First Night Only:

Ba-ruch a-tah A-do-nai, El-o-hei-nu Me-lech Ha-O-lam, she-he-khi- ya-nu, v’ki-ye-ma-nu, v’hi-gi-ya-nu laz-man ha-zeh.

 

Blessed are you, O Holy One, our G-d, Guide of the Cosmos, Who has given us life, enables us to fulfill our destiny, and has brought us to this happy day.

At the darkest time of year, the lights of Hanukkah remind us to dedicate our hearts and join our Light with the Light of others to make our world a brighter, more holy place.
