Signs of Hepatic Encephalopathy

  • Flapping tremor or asterixis (early stages)
  • Stupor (late stage)
  • Coma (late stage)

Symptoms of Hepatic Encephalopathy

The following and should be documented:

  • Decreased awareness of environment
  • Sleep disturbance
  • Depression
  • Emotional lability
  • Somnolence
  • Slurred speech
  • Obtundation
